As a child, your favorite cereal is definitely the one with the highest sugar content!
And with the colorful side of Froot Loops, that makes them even more fun to eat.
There is always a treat when your milk turns into a rainbow of colors.
So what about a little bit of information about our favorite childhood cereal?
When you were a kid, did you ever spend so much time categorizing your Froot Loops?
If you're like me, you can do it!
Isolate the red ones because the cherries are the best and choose yellow ones because lemons are NOT cereal.
But wait - the illusion shattered when it was Kellogg's own confirmation that all flavors are created from a generic "fruit mix."
Any difference you taste is simply a placebo effect.
So really, there's no difference between the colors except they make your milk a different color.
Due to regulatory differences between the UK and the US, Froot Loops differ in a few different ways.
First of all, they are only available in orange, green and purple.
Regulations in the UK force Froot Loops to use natural additives and flavors.
This changed the recipe for the British version, resulting in a coarser grain and thus a different flavor than the American one.
Another difference is that the UK Froot Loop is larger!
However, if you want to try the UK version, don't hold your breath - Froot Loops was introduced to the UK in 2012, but was quickly removed by the end of 2015 due to a lack of demand.
This might not come as much of a surprise, but for some it guarantees a trial.
Froot Loops has been sued at least four times for misleading by not actually containing any fruit.
However, since their name was an intentional spelling of "fruit", it never worked out.
It always tilts in Kellogg's side because “froot” is not a real word and judges that you can't properly interpret it to get real fruit.
So if you are thinking of making quick money by suing a large corporation, you may want to look elsewhere.
The closest thing to real fruit in Froot Loops is just natural fruit flavoring, but you definitely won't find any nutritional value here!
In the summer of 2010, Kellogg's recalled 28 million boxes of cereals, including Froot Loops.
There is supposedly nothing wrong with the grain itself, rather than the packaging it is in.
Despite this, there have been numerous reports of consumers getting food poisoning from Froot Loops and other Kellogg grains.
The cereal box is said to have a strange smell, and some people experience nausea and diarrhea.
As it turns out, the packaged wax has a higher hydrocarbon content.
Fortunately, the risk was low and only 20 people complained in total.
But the risk of reputation ruining is very high, so Kellogg's voluntarily recalled grain before things could get worse.
There haven't been any reports of this happening since then, so feel free to continue enjoying your favorite cereal without worry!
