This kit is the only kit to get when you aren't sure what happened to the magnet. It is IMPERATIVE that the magnet is present between this filter and the transmission housing. Replace the filter every 12000 miles with a drain and refill of 7.4 quarts Dexron VI in your Duramax/Allison transmission.

Great price for the Allison transmission on my 2016 Chevrolet 3500HD. I was not sure if my current filter had a magnet but it did, so I now have an extra for the next time I change the filter. I was glad that I changed the filter and checked the transmission fluid as it turned out that my transmission was apparently 2 qts low from the factory. I changed my filter at 11000 miles so I am glad there was no transmission damage. Who would have thought to check you transmission fluid when it should have been checked prior to leaving the factory and by the dealer that sold it to me. There is absolutely no evidence of any leaks so I can only assume that it was delivered this way!

This filter also includes a new magnet in case the original was lost or broken. Allison makes it easy to service your transmission by providing a spin on filter for their transmissions. The magnet goes on with the filter and is designed to catch any loose metal particulate in the transmission. At change you can simply clean it and reuse it with a new filter. this is an excellent value ! Easy DIY project to extend the life of your Allison trans.

Phenomenal RED filter!
Fit like a glove and a very high quality unit. Accept nothing less than original Allison fluids and filters. Don't forget the magnet! Also, prefill the filter with correct fluid before installing otherwise it will bring the transmission fluid down. Check your fluid level on a HOT check per factory instructions and procedures and verify readings with repeated dipstick measurements.

Happy to have found a kit that actually included the magnet, and all at a reasonable cost! For some reason during one of the last maintenance trips, someone forgot to replace the magnet on the trans filter during the change. It is very much needed, so having the ability to get it with the replacement filter made it easy!

Much cheaper than the AC Delco! Plus this one was built by the Allison manufacturer for the Allison Transmission. I switched to these a few years ago and have never had an issue or complaint.

Cheap Transmission Insurance
Great value. Super easy to replace this filter, so cheap insurance for a very expensive transmission. Appears to be an authentic, made in USA, OEM filter. It came very well packed in a seperate box, so there was no damage, and it is well sealed. The magnet is attached and protected on the filter itself. I will get one for every 10,000 mile change for sure.

Cant beat OEM. Had the magnet in the box. Good thing I got the magnet because the last guy who did the filter change forgot the magnet on the old filter and threw it away. Good price. Better than the dealer. Thanks Amazon.

Arrived quickly, undamaged, and it fit great. 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax. Fill up your new red Allison filter with Transynd transmission fluid before re-installing. Only use transynd transmission fluid for the Allison 1000 transmission. This is the only fluid that protects this transmission!
